Description
This is a special line of Martin Acoustic strings. They are made of phosphor so they have the tonal qualities you've come to expect from these strings. You will have all the rich high end tones with the define and clear mid and a wide bass. There is also an added bonus.
When you buy the FX line you'll do so because you want either a different feel from the strings or you come from a different instrument. The FX in the title stands for flexible core. What this means for the guitar player is that these strings feel lighter than what they really are, they are more flexible so you'll be able to transition with out problem from an electric or from a nylon guitar into an acoustic.
With great flexibility comes great avenues of expression. They were designed for the finger picking player or an electric guitar player that are used to the lighter gauge strings. Sometimes this can make it hard on your fingers since the acoustics usually have a heavier gauge.
Martin FX strings marry their thinnest core wire to their standard tensions so you stay in control of each and every note. It would work well with beginners but their flexibility will appeal to all sorts of guitar players. Just ask Tommy Emmanuel, he performs with the FXs every night around the globe.
